Our Mission

My name is Victor Monheim and I aim to complete the Ocean 7 marathon swims. The Ocean 7 has been completed by only 11 other swimmers in the world, and I plan to begin my journey to become an Ocean 7 finisher with the Santa Catalina Channel this August.

On August 17, 2018, I will begin this conquest with The Santa Catalina Channel, a 20 mile swim across dark cold unpredictable seas from Catalina Island to mainland California. Not to make things more crazy, you start this swim in the middle of the night!

In my Ocean 7 conquest I have partnered with The Aruna Project to help bring the fresh air of freedom to women suffocated by sexual slavery in Mumbai, India through the Swim for Her campaign. Aruna is an Athleisure lifestyle brand that unites women to be active, confident and create change by bringing lifelong freedom to the sexually enslaved. We are asking donors to commit a certain amount of money per mile swam. It’s simple, the more miles I swim, the more freedom we are able to give to these women.

Women enslaved by sexual slavery are hidden in the shadows, unseen, unloved and unknown. I’m swimming to bring their names to the surface and make them known to the world. Women like Priya, Sephura, and Manta deserve to be seen and heard.
