Proceeds benefit Youth On Course
Friends,
I’ve decided to take the plunge again and play another 100 holes of golf on Sept. 10th to raise money for Youth on Course. Last year was my first time playing that much golf in a day. It was a fun event, we had great weather, but it was definitely a long day and my back was sore for days. But it did feel manageable as we played the shorter Cliffs Course at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. This year YOC decided to add some hardship and have us play Claremont Country Club in Oakland. Don’t they understand that making it harder doesn’t make it more desirable? Haha! Anyway, I will be playing from sunup to sundown and will easily walk over 25 miles at Claremont CC. No carts will be allowed and we must carry your bag. This time it really does sound crazy!
Now in its 11th year, Youth on Course operates in 17 states and is in the process of expanding nationally. Currently, Youth on Course serves more than 25,000 youth, providing access to affordable golf at 650+ participating facilities throughout the nation. Kids you join Youth on Course are able to play these courses for only $5 per round and they get access to summer jobs through caddy programs.
As many of you know, I’ve been helping to coach the Tamalpais High School Boy’s Golf Team the past few years which has truly been a fun and rewarding experience. We have some exceptionally talented players on our team. I’ve seen first hand the value of Youth on Course for many pre-teen kids in Marin and all of our high school teen golfers. Our players logged dozens of rounds at courses around the bay area for only $5.00 per round. Youth on Course makes it possible for our kids to play many different courses they otherwise would not have been able to play. Golf, as you know, is an expensive sport and Youth on Course makes it much more accessible and affordable for kids and high school players.
I would like you to consider supporting my campaign. Two years ago this outing raised $30,000. Last year (which was my first year) we raised over $85,000 for Youth on Course from this event, more than doubling the amount from the prior year! You can pledge any amount you want for each hole I play (and I do plan on completing all 100 holes). For example, if you pledge $1 per hole and I play 100 holes, that’s $100 towards Youth on Course. Knowing that I have your support will definitely add to the challenge and help keep me going on September 10th!

Thanks for considering my proposal and supporting this cause. And please don’t contact me about playing golf on Sept. 11th!
Best,
Bruce
