Proceeds benefit Youth On Course
One of the big reasons my son, Bence, is able to enjoy golf as much as he does is that he gets plenty of opportunities to play real golf courses. And, as we all know, the best way to learn is by doing.
This would not be possible without Youth On Course — an organization that enables kids under 18 to play hundreds of courses (and growing) in 24 states — including California and Michigan — for $5 or less per round. This makes a lot of sense. After all, little kids take much smaller divots than adults. :)
Youth On Course has more than 31,000 youth members and besides the opportunity to play affordable golf, it also provides them with summer jobs as caddies/interns as well as college scholarships.
I have decided to try to advance the cause by raising awareness and money through the “100 Hole Hike” (H3 in short) event, on September 10th. I’ve signed up to play 100 HOLES OF GOLF IN ONE DAY, walking the whole distance. Yep, I’m crazy.
The Hike by the numbers:
5.5 rounds plus one hole from sunup to sundown in about 15.5 hours – which makes for about 2 hours 50 minutes per round, or 9.3 minutes per hole. About 20 miles of walking and hundreds of swings. Can I do it? We’ll see…
If you’d like to help, you can choose any, or all of the following options:
For the per hole option, you can pledge any amount for each hole of golf I play. For example, if you pledge $1 per hole and I complete 100 holes, that’s $100 towards Youth on Course.
Check out where I stand against other YOC National hikers by viewing my ranking on the leaderboard.
Thank you for your support!
